Updates were released involving the Albany Village Graduate Student Apartments at 1050 Monroe Street in Albany, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The 300,000-square-foot development would provide housing for UC Berkeley students, creating 761 fully-furnished units for single graduate students without children. Amenities within the complex include in-unit washer and dryer, lounges and meeting rooms, landscaped gardens, multi-use lawns and terraces, and 55,000 square feet of space for relaxing, studying, and socializing.

Demolition permitting has progressed for the existing two-story building at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2435 Haste Street site in Berkeley, making way for an eight-story, 37-unit development at the site. Of these units, seven will be allocated for extremely low-income to moderate-income households, replacing the affordable units inside the two-story building that is being demolished. The new development at 2435 Haste will also contain 940 square feet of usable open space along with on-site parking for bicycles.

Renderings have been released for a potential residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1526 Powell Street in San Francisco. The complex will contain 20 new residential units, with three of these units being affordable for low-income households. A setback terrace will distinguish the two-story podium from the upper four floors of residential expansion, creating a six-story structure behind the façade of the existing John J. Delucchi Sheet Metal Works building. On-site parking will also be provided for cars and bicycles.

With all pre-construction work completed, construction is set to begin on the Colibri Commons affordable housing development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 965 Weeks Street site in East Palo Alto. The complex will contain 136 units of 100% affordable housing, and the construction process will start on October 30.
Plans were filed for a senior housing complex at 2675 Folsom Street in San Francisco, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Project plans are yet to be published, but it appears this will be a multi-phase development creating ~240 units of affordable housing for seniors. Moreover, 60 of those units will be used as supportive housing, and the complex will contain ~3,500 square feet of ground-floor supportive service space.

Renderings have been revealed for the proposed expansion of the St. Ignatius College Preparatory School campus at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2001 37th Avenue site in San Francisco. This proposal would create a new main facility for the school overlooking Sunset Boulevard, while some of the existing campus would be demolished. This main facility would consist of a new 39-foot-tall, 187,200-square-foot building containing ground-level classrooms, a kitchen, and a practice room. The second floor will contain The Commons, a flexible space for academic functions and events, as well as a chapel. Lastly, the third floor will add more classrooms, along with faculty space and a large open room. On-site parking for bicycles will also be provided.

A six-story affordable housing development was proposed at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 797 South Almaden Avenue in San Jose. The plans ask to create 99 homes total; 98 of those units will become either permanent supportive housing or rapid rehousing, while the final unit will be given to the building manager. The complex will also include 2,315 square feet of community-service commercial space, communal open space, a resident support facility, and on-site parking.

An Environmental Impact Report was published for a six-story residential development at 2136 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. This report encompasses the public’s thoughts on replacing a one-story commercial building with 126 homes; of these 126 units, ten will be allocated for very low-income households, and three will be live-work retail spaces. The complex contains abundant common space, including terraces, rooftop decks, and a courtyard, as well as six private backyards and a park across the street.

A seven-story senior housing complex has been slated for development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1335-1385 Galindo Street site in Concord. The facility will contain 150 units for seniors, with 117 of those units being assisted living units and 33 being memory care units. Seniors within the facility will have access to around-the-clock care and other services, as well as amenities like on-site parking.
A review will be taking place today discussing the six-story residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2127 Dwight Way in Berkeley. The T-shaped complex will conform around buildings already existing on-site, and it will contain 66 units ranging from one-bedrooms to six-bedrooms. The development will also include abundant landscaped open space, complete with turf grass, a dining table, and seating.
