Plans were approved by the City of Santa Clara for the construction of a 21-story mixed-use residential complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 5185 Lafayette Street site in Tasman East, Santa Clara. The development will create 198 apartments and 3,000 square feet of retail space, as well as 310 parking spaces in a seven-level garage. On-site parking will also be included for bicycles, and amenities include a pool surrounded by a pool deck, landscaped open space, and communal patios. This project is part of the greater Tasman East development, which aims to create up to 4,500 units of housing.

New permits were filed to construct an eight-story, 356-unit apartment complex at 2433 Mariner Square Drive in Alameda, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The commercial buildings currently on the site will be demolished, and the new development will likely include a large on-site garage.

Updated permits have been filed for the Creekside Hotel and Residences complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 3400 El Camino Real site in Palo Alto. These updated plans will create 218 new apartments and 132 new hotel rooms at the site, as well as preserving an existing 10-unit apartment complex and two existing hotel buildings with 57 rooms. Of the 228 total residential units, 46 will be affordable for low-income households, and residential amenities will include a fitness center, outdoor common spaces, and a pool deck. The Matadero Creek will flow between buildings within the complex, and the Matadero Bridge will see updated landscaping.

New renderings were released for a residential development proposed at 4035 Park Boulevard in Oakland, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The proposal includes the construction of eight single-family homes on separate mini-lots on the site. One of the project’s units will be for a moderate-income household, allowing the project to utilize the State Density Bonus program. Moreover, landscaped areas will wrap around the eight units and on-site parking.

Vivalon and Eden Housing have opened the 67-unit Vivalon Healthy Aging Campus at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 999 3rd Street in San Rafael. 66 of the units will be affordable housing for seniors, while the 67th unit will be for the on-site property manager. Along with housing, the campus will provide medical services such as coordinated care, social engagement, nutrition services, and activities for residents. Amenities on the campus include a café and a residential courtyard.

Fremont Bank is preparing to move into its new headquarters at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 39150 Fremont Boulevard site, which is, unsurprisingly, in Fremont. The six-story, 36,000-square-foot building will contain abundant office space, and the bank’s flagship branch will occupy the mezzanine and first floor of the building. The headquarters was built partially to demonstrate Fremont Bank’s commitment to the Bay Area, and a grand opening ceremony will likely be held in May or June.

New renderings have been released for the affordable senior housing development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2675 Folsom Street in San Francisco. The two-structure complex will consist of 237 residential units, over 4,000 square feet for supportive services, and over 14,000 square feet of usable open space. Moreover, 59 of the units will be designated as supportive housing for homeless households or disabled seniors. Amenities include a meditation garden, outdoor fitness area, and fire pit.

Renderings have been released for the affordable housing redevelopment of the Buena Vista Village at 3980 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The project would replace the site’s mobile home park with 105 affordable units, broken down into a parcel with a three-story, 61-unit apartment complex called Buena Vista Commons and a second parcel with 44 mobile homes. Residents of the current mobile home park will be offered the option to move to these replacement units, with amenities including a plaza connected to a community room and landscaped space surrounding on-site parking.

Plans have been filed for a residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2518 College Boulevard site in Santa Clara’s Freedom Circle Focus Area. This plan will demolish the 12 office buildings currently on the site and replace them with 1,792 apartments across an unspecified number of buildings. The site is zoned to allow for eight-story apartment buildings, and the application also includes over one million square feet of parking space. This development is part of a larger plan to replace the office campus at Freedom Circle with over three thousand homes and public open space.
