3433 3rd Street in San Francisco

Renderings have been released for the two-story Carpenter’s Union Hall development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 3433 3rd Street in San Francisco. The structure, which will function as office and assembly space for the Carpenter Local Union 22 members, will include a 300-person assembly and meeting hall, along with nearly 9,000 square feet of office space. Amenities include over 4,000 square feet of landscaped space and over 9,000 square feet of space for on-site parking.

180 Jones Street in San Francisco

Construction has topped out for the nine-story residential project at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 180 Jones Street in San Francisco. The complex, which is 100% affordable, will create 70 units of housing; 35 units will be for adults experiencing homelessness, 34 will be for low-income households, and one unit will be for the building manager. The complex’s amenities include a common area, courtyard, social worker’s office, supervisor’s office, and additional offices for residents.

231 Grant Avenue in Palo Alto

Check out this video from Abode Communities showcasing the groundbreaking of 231 Grant Avenue in Palo Alto, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The complex, which was developed in tandem with Mercy Housing California, will create educator workforce housing by providing 110 rental units for teachers, school employees, and their families.

955 Sansome Street site in San Francisco

Further plans were filed for a 16-story apartment complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 955 Sansome Street site in San Francisco. These new plans increased the residential capacity of the building to 102 units, 16 of which will be designated as affordable for households making up to 80% of the Area Median Income. The development will also contain ~3,000 square feet of ground-level retail space, and other amenities include a fitness center, third-floor rear yard, and storage space.

123 Independence Drive in Menlo Park

Plans have been approved for a multi-structure residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 123 Independence Drive in Menlo Park. The structure will create 432 units, which consist of 316 rental units and 116 townhome-style apartments, and 66 of these will be designated as affordable. Parking will be included on-site, and the complex will have an abundance of landscaped open space.

17470 Monterey Highway in Morgan Hill

Construction is back underway for the five-story, 73-room Hotel MOHI at 17470 Monterey Highway in Morgan Hill, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. During the COVID pandemic, the two-story, partially constructed structure was turned into an outdoor restaurant. Even with the building changing functions back to a hotel, it will still include a ~3,800-square-foot market, ~2,400-square-foot restaurant, ~3,600-square-foot bar, and ~8,800-square-foot banquet hall. Other amenities include an outdoor patio, courtyard, spa, and lounge.

380 North 1st Street in San Jose

The environmental review process has begun for a seven-story development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 380 North 1st Street in San Jose. This project would replace the two-story commercial structure currently on-site with 118 homes, including 18 affordable units. The seven-story structure will also include a number of amenities, such as on-site parking for cars and bicycles, a ground-floor bicycle café, a third-floor amenity deck, and a sixth-floor clubroom.

231 Grant Avenue in Palo Alto

Construction has started on a four-story residential development at 231 Grant Avenue in Palo Alto, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The four-story complex will create 110 units of housing for Palo Alto teachers, school district staff, and their families, and all units will be designated as affordable. Moreover, this development will include 1,100 square feet of commercial flex space, as well as amenities like on-site parking and a landscaped welcome grove.

3120 Shattuck Avenue site in Berkeley

The SB35 application has been approved for the eight-story residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 3120 Shattuck Avenue site in Berkeley. Called Woolsey Gardens, this complex aims to be a community hub, creating 65 units of permanent affordable housing alongside the services provided by the two existing on-site tenants, the Homeless Action Center and the Long Haul InfoShop. Micro-workshop space will also be available for local entrepreneurs, comprising some of the building’s 7,320 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. On-site parking will be included only for bicycles, and the construction process will use 100% renewable energy.

1510 Webster Street site in Oakland

Construction has topped out for the 19-story development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1510 Webster Street site in Oakland. The 236-unit residential development is the tallest mass timber tower on the west coast of the United States, and residents are expected to begin moving in before the end of the year. 51 of the units will be designated as affordable for low-income and moderate-income households, and the complex will include almost 3,000 square feet of retail space. The building’s rooftop may also become home to a commercial tenant.
