Five of Rockridge Geotechnical’s affordable housing projects were mentioned in Resources for Community Development’s spring newsletter, with those projects being Sango Court, Bell Street Gardens, Nellie Hannon Gateway, Rick Judd Commons, and Madrone Terrace. Furthermore, the newsletter announced that there will be a groundbreaking ceremony on May 18th for the 79-unit Madrone Terrace, which is located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 16060 East 14th Street site in Ashland.

We are proud to announce the grand opening of the Firehouse Square development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1300 El Camino Real site in Belmont! The four-story complex will provide 66 new homes for families and individuals, all of which will be affordable. A grand opening ceremony hosted by developer MidPen Housing will be held on May 16th.
Renderings have been released for an eight-story mixed-use development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 3120 Shattuck Avenue site in Berkeley. All units in the building, of which there will be up to 65, will be affordable, and the building will also include community service-oriented retail space, workshop spaces for local micro-retail, and outdoor terraces with greenery. Lastly, the development will have net zero energy, making it fully sustainable.

Construction has begun on a five-story residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 685 9th Street in Oakland. The development will contain 117 residential units, with 35 of those being affordable, as well as on-site bicycle parking.

Plans are being reviewed for the seven-story, 262-unit development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1477 Huntington Avenue in South San Francisco. 39 of the development’s units will be for tenants earning low to very low incomes, and the building will have on-site parking. Other amenities include a fitness room, co-working space, and two courtyards.

New renderings have been released for an eight-story mixed-use development at 1598 University Avenue in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The development will include 207 residential units, 21 of which will be for very low-income residents, and ~5,800 square feet of commercial space. On-site parking will be included, as well as amenities like a fitness center, club room, and ~6,300-square-foot garden.

The Oakland Planning Commission will review plans for the expansion of Head-Royce School at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 4368 Lincoln Avenue site in Oakland. The expansion will include the redevelopment of four existing buildings and the construction of three new buildings, with the new buildings containing a performing arts center, pavilion, and maintenance building. Over time, this expansion will allow enrollment to increase from 906 students to 1,250 students.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held last week for the West Campus Green student housing development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at San Francisco State University. The six-story, 120,000-square-foot dormitory will contain multi-person rooms for students, with each room having three students. A three-story structure with a dining facility and health center is also set to be constructed next to the dorm.

Permits have been filed for a six-story, 105-unit mixed-use development at 1026 Cotton Street in Oakland, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The building will contain over 10,000 square feet of retail space to go along with the residential units, with amenities including on-site parking for residents. The number of parking spaces will be 105 if three-level stackers are used, or there will be 222 spaces if a basement garage is installed.

Updated renderings have been released for the 25-story residential tower to be built at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1523 Harrison Street site in Oakland. These new renderings show more density, as the number of residential units has increased from 269 to 361 with the number of stories increasing from 20 to 25. Furthermore, the ground floor will potentially be used for commercial space.
