The developer hopes to create a seven-story complex with 62 apartments and 4,800 square feet of amenities, as well as an attached single-story bank. The 8,400-square-foot bank will contain an attached 16-car surface parking lot, while the residential portion of the building will include a 52-car garage.

Construction has begun on the eight-story Valiant student housing complex located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2538 Durant Avenue in Berkeley. The development, which is within walking distance of the UC Berkeley campus, will contain 83 units and 262 bedrooms, as well as 1,500 square feet of retail space. Amenities within the complex will include a rooftop deck, fitness center, and bike storage. Construction is anticipated to be completed prior to the 2026-2027 academic year.

Along with the residential portion, the complex would also contain 1,250 square feet of retail space and on-site bicycle parking. Moreover, of the 160 units, 30 will be designated as deed-restricted affordable. Amenities within the building would include a café, fitness center, and rear-lot courtyard.

The environmental review process has been completed for the potential mixed-use redevelopment of the California College of the Arts campus at 5200 Broadway in Oakland, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites.
