RiverRow, a 175-unit apartment complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 444 Front Street in Santa Cruz, has been named one of the San Francisco Business Times’ Real Estate Deals of the Year! The three-building, seven-story luxury development is partially affordable, and it also contains ground-floor retail and restaurant space.

New plans have been released for the residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 501 South Almaden Avenue site in San Jose, increasing the number of units from 53 to 99. The nine-story building will likely be 100% affordable, with the upper eight stories containing residential units and the ground floor containing a lobby and on-site parking. The complex will also be within walking distance of public transit, as well as downtown retail and restaurants.
A grand opening was held for the Legacy Court affordable housing complex at 1243 Fred Jackson Way in Richmond, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Along with its 43 townhome-style apartments, the development contains various amenities, such as a playground for children, along with residential services. The complex is also all-electric, making Legacy Court particularly environmentally friendly.

New building permits were filed for the eight-story, 83-unit redevelopment of the Alexandria Theater at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 5400 Geary Boulevard site in San Francisco. Of the 83 units, ten will be affordable, and the complex will also include 3,200 square feet of ground-floor retail space, over 10,000 square feet of amenity space, and on-site parking for bicycles. Moreover, the project will preserve multiple aspects of the historic theater, such as the exterior marquee, interior sunburst chandelier, and art deco murals in the lobby.

Construction has begun on the four-story, 81-unit Lazuli Landing affordable housing development at 33435 Mission Boulevard in Union City, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The complex will also include community-serving retail space set to be operated by Union City’s Youth & Family Services, along with residential amenities such as a community room, outdoor play area, and on-site parking.

An eight-story, 301-unit residential development in Santa Clara located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2263 Calle Del Mendo recently received new funding, helping push the project toward construction. Two of the building’s 301 units will be live-work units designed for residential-commercial use, and the complex will feature amenities such as a pool deck area, multiple smaller courtyards, a front lawn, and an adjacent park.

Plans for a 17-story adaptive reuse of the Morse Block at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2276 Shattuck Avenue site in Berkeley are set to be reviewed by the Berkeley Zoning Adjustments Board. The new development would include 134 apartments and nearly 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, along with parking for 117 bicycles.

Construction has begun for the 23-story UC Berkeley Bancroft-Fulton student housing development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2200 Bancroft Way site in Berkeley. The tower will contain 1,625 residence hall-style beds along with residential amenities, such as social lounges, a fitness center, study lounges, a central courtyard, and a two-story, 500-seat dining facility. Once complete, this building will be the tallest in Berkeley, though there are other towers in the pipeline that will soon surpass it.

Updated plans were filed for a seven-story, 45-unit residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2298 Durant Avenue in Berkeley, sitting just one block from the UC Berkeley campus. Of the 45 units, two will be affordable, and the complex will also include a ground-level courtyard.

Foundation work has begun for the first phase of the El Cerrito BART transit-oriented development at 515 Richmond Street in El Cerrito, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The first phase consists of a six-story affordable housing complex containing 70 units, over 5,000 square feet of amenity space, and on-site parking for cars and bicycles. Once complete, the entire El Cerrito Plaza BART transit village is expected to contain 743 apartments across six multifamily buildings, as well as a new public library and parking for residents and BART passengers.
