Construction is underway for the six-story, 113-unit senior living community at 2000 Dwight Way in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. 88 of the units will be for assisted living while 25 will be memory care suites, and the complex is across the street from the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and Sutter Urgent Care centers.

Renderings have been released of the 17-story mixed-use development sprouting from the California Theatre at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2115 Kittredge Street site in Berkeley. The historic façade of the building will remain the same, but a new theater will be created for live performances below the 218 apartments being built on the upper floors. Commercial space, including office space, and an amenity room for residents will also be included in the development.

Construction of Studio 2000, an eight-story apartment complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2000 University Avenue in Berkeley, has finished. The development will create 82 apartments, with one fifth of those being affordable so the project could use the State Density Bonus program. The complex is also expected to achieve LEED Gold certification, along with containing over 1,400 square feet of retail space and two rooftop gardens.

Renderings have been released for the research and laboratory building planned at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2741 16^th Street site in San Francisco. A one-story vertical addition will bring the development to four stories and over 87,000 square feet, with much of the office space being converted to laboratory space.

Construction has been completed for the 265-unit apartment complex built at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at One Adrian Court in Burlingame. The building will contain 3,700 square feet of ground-floor commercial space as well as on-site amenities for residents, such as a co-working area, fitness center, and club room.

Two affordable developments have been proposed at both 1633 Valencia Street and 3485 Cesar Chavez Street in San Francisco, with the latter being one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The seven-story Cesar Chavez development will create 126 affordable senior housing units while the five-story Valencia development will create 146 units, totaling 272 units across the two buildings. Each building in the complex will have community spaces and on-site services, such as a shared courtyard and support services center.

New plans have been submitted by developer OWow to increase the height and density of a residential high-rise planned at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1523 Harrison Street site in Oakland. The updated plan would increase the number of stories from 20 to 25 and the number of residential units from 256 to 361. This development will be constructed using mass timber, a sustainable building material that was also used at Rockridge Geotechnical’s project at 1510 Webster Street in Oakland.

Plans are being reviewed by the Oakland Planning Commission for residential renovations of the former California College of the Arts (CCA) campus at 5200 Broadway in Oakland, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. These plans would create 448 units of housing across four buildings, along with over 14,000 square feet of retail space. Rockridge Geotechnical also worked on the CCA campus unification in San Francisco.
