New renderings have been released for the 17-story, 227-unit residential tower at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2274 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley. The building will replace the Regal United Artists Theater on the site, but the façade of the theater will remain with the construction of the new structure. Furthermore, 23 of the units in 2274 Shattuck will be affordable, allowing the project to use the State Density Bonus program. On-site parking will exist for residents, and the development will also contain 1,500 square feet of retail space.

Construction has reached the sixth story of the 19-story mixed-use development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1510 Webster Street in Oakland. The building will create 222 new homes, 35 of which will be designated as affordable, along with ~3,000 square feet of retail space and ~9,500 square feet of office space. The development used mass-timber construction, an approach to construction that is more sustainable.

Permits were approved for the eight-story, 83-unit mixed-use development at 2538 Durant Avenue in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Five of the 83 units will be allocated for very low-income residents, and there will be ~1,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Amenities in the complex include bicycle parking, a work lounge, a fitness center, and a courtyard deck.

Eden Housing, in partnership with EPA CAN DO and the City of East Palo Alto, hosted a grand re-opening ceremony for Light Tree Apartments at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1805 East Bayshore Road site in East Palo Alto. The ceremony celebrated the 128 recently constructed homes in the complex, as well as the 57 newly renovated apartments and townhomes. These updates to Light Tree Apartments doubled the number of affordable homes within the complex.

The Environmental Impact Report has been completed for the 334-unit development at 210 Baypoint Parkway in San Jose, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. 17 of the homes within the 210 Baypoint complex will be affordable, and residents will have access to on-site parking in a 343-car garage. Moreover, 64,000 square feet of the development will be dedicated to amenities, such as a pool deck, spa, fitness center, and landscaped courtyard with barbecues.

As previously mentioned in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Maceo May Apartments on Treasure Island are now open to residents. The six-story development contains 105 units; 104 units will be affordable homes dedicated to veterans and their families, and the final unit will be a manager’s unit. Amenities inside the complex include a garden, playground, and community room.

Revisions have been made to an eight-story residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 3403 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. Using the State Density Bonus, the number of units within the complex has increased from 73 to 93. Out of the 93 units, 24 will be designated as affordable; 21 of these units will be for moderate-income households, and three will be for very low-income households. Due to its location, residents will also have access to the retail-rich Piedmont Avenue.

The opening of an 18-story Marriott hotel at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1431 Jefferson Street site in Oakland has been announced. The 276 rooms will be split between two of Marriott’s brands, the AC Hotel and Residence Inn, and guests will have access to amenities like a fitness center and a meeting space with smart screens. There will also be 1,600 square feet of ground-level retail space.

Revisions have been made to the plans for a residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 820 West MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland. The number of residential units within the complex has increased from 92 apartments to 166 studios, but this change decreased the number of potential residents from 242 to 166. 51 of these 166 units will be affordable for moderate-income households, and residents will have access to a landscaped courtyard with outdoor furniture for dining.

Renderings have been released for the five-story mixed-use development at 1776-1790 University Avenue in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The project will consist of 17 dorm-style apartments, as the complex is only a 10-minute walk from UC Berkeley. Moreover, two of these apartments will be affordable, and the residential portion will be on top of ~800 square feet of commercial retail space.
