Updated building permits have been filed for a five-story complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2323 San Pablo Avenue in Oakland. There will be 16 units in the complex, and one of those units will be for an extremely low-income household, allowing the developer to utilize the State Density Bonus program. The complex will also contain 500 square feet of retail space, as well as on-site parking for vehicles and bicycles.

Plans have been adjusted for a formerly abandoned housing proposal at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 400 Divisadero Street in San Francisco. These plans would request an extension from the city to construct a six-story, 184-unit complex with ground-floor retail space at the site. If the extension request is approved, the developer would have until 2025 to secure funding and start construction.

Updated permits were filed for a potential four-story development at 3020 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The plans, which have been delayed extensively, would replace a vacant lot with 29 homes and ~1,600 square feet of retail space. Out of the 29 homes in the complex, four would be designated as inclusionary affordable housing, allowing the project to use the State Density Bonus program.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Nellie Hannon Gateway affordable housing development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 3610 San Pablo Avenue site in Emeryville. The seven-story complex will create 90 affordable homes for low-income households, with 39 of those homes being allocated for families transitioning out of homelessness. The ground floor will be used by the Emeryville Citizens Assistance Program (ECAP), a nonprofit that provides food assistance. Speakers at the groundbreaking included the Mayor of Emeryville and Nellie Hannon, the building’s namesake.

Two of Rockridge Geotechnical’s projects with Eden Housing have progressed in their respective construction processes. The Mesa Terrace development, located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1171 Mesa Drive in San Jose, recently held a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony after finishing construction. Mesa Terrace will create 46 units of housing, half of which will be allocated for young adults exiting the foster system. Meanwhile, the housing complex located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 3301 Kerner Boulevard site in San Rafael has kicked off construction. 3301 Kerner will provide 41 units; 40 units of housing will go to people who are dealing with mental illnesses and/or are experiencing homelessness, and the final unit will be the building manager’s unit.

New renderings have been released for the seven-story, 68-unit development at 1752 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Seven of the 68 units will be allocated for very low-income residents, and the building will include ~1,200 square feet of retail space. The complex’s amenities will revolve around terrific landscaping, with amenities including a rear yard with planters and a landscaped rooftop deck.

Permits have been filed in the hopes of receiving approval for a mixed-use development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1232 High Street site in Oakland. The proposed five-story project would create a ~129,000-square-foot mixed-use self-storage building for StorQuest Self Storage. The building will also include on-site parking, a loading dock, office space, a lobby, a community room, and landscaped areas surrounding the building.

New plans have been released for the mixed-use development at 3400 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Using the Builder’s Remedy, the multi-building complex will create 189 homes, 38 of which will be designated as affordable, and a 137-room hotel. Amenities include on-site parking and a landscaped courtyard that partially consists of a river running through the development.

The complex, called Mesa Terrace Community, will create 46 affordable homes; 23 of those homes will be for low-income families, while the other 23 will be for transition-aged youths recently exiting the foster system. The complex also includes a 1,000-square-foot community room and is within walking distance of the Blossom Hill VTA light rail station, as well as being next to a retail plaza with a grocery store.
