3980 El Camino Real in Palo Alto

Renderings have been released for the affordable housing redevelopment of the Buena Vista Village at 3980 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The project would replace the site’s mobile home park with 105 affordable units, broken down into a parcel with a three-story, 61-unit apartment complex called Buena Vista Commons and a second parcel with 44 mobile homes. Residents of the current mobile home park will be offered the option to move to these replacement units, with amenities including a plaza connected to a community room and landscaped space surrounding on-site parking.

2518 College Boulevard in Santa Clara’s Freedom Circle Focus Area

Plans have been filed for a residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2518 College Boulevard site in Santa Clara’s Freedom Circle Focus Area. This plan will demolish the 12 office buildings currently on the site and replace them with 1,792 apartments across an unspecified number of buildings. The site is zoned to allow for eight-story apartment buildings, and the application also includes over one million square feet of parking space. This development is part of a larger plan to replace the office campus at Freedom Circle with over three thousand homes and public open space.

Plans were submitted to seek approval to construct a new residence at 178 Montana Street in San Francisco, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The two-story residence will offer two dwelling units, including an ADU.

960 Howard Street in San Francisco

Updated permits were filed to expand the size of the residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 960 Howard Street in San Francisco. These new plans use a density bonus to create a 19-story tower with 274 apartments across 16 floors. The tower will also include nearly 12,000 square feet of office space and over 5,100 square feet of light industrial space. Of the 274 units in the development, 42 will be designated as affordable for low- and moderate-income households.

2136 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley

Tonight, the Berkeley Planning Commission will be reviewing the design of a six-story, 126-unit development at 2136 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Of the 126 homes, ten will be affordable to very low-income households, while three will be live/work units. Residents will also have access to around 6,600 square feet of landscaped open space across the central courtyard and terraces.

1218 Monte Diablo Avenue in San Mateo

Plans are to be reviewed for a five-story, 75-unit residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1218 Monte Diablo Avenue in San Mateo. Of the 75 units, 12 will be designated as affordable, allowing for a 47% density bonus that benefits the developer. Although this project does not include any retail or commercial space, it will include on-site parking for 68 cars and 91 bicycles.

965 Weeks Street in East Palo Alto

A celebration was held to commemorate the official groundbreaking of the Colibri Commons affordable housing development at 965 Weeks Street in East Palo Alto, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The four buildings within the complex will range from three to four stories in height, creating a total of 136 residential units. The property will also include a landscaped courtyard and on-site parking.

2395 Sacramento Street in San Francisco

Plans have been allowed to proceed to convert the library at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2395 Sacramento Street site in San Francisco into a residential development. The project would repurpose the library and add two new buildings, seven stories and six stories respectively, for a total of 24 apartments, three of which will be affordable. The buildings will be separated by a landscaped deck on the second level, and the project will also include a 25-car garage.

1431 Franklin Street in Downtown Oakland

The City of Oakland has approved plans for the 40-story residential tower at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1431 Franklin Street. This complex, which will create 381 units and on-site parking, will be the tallest residential building in the city. Moreover, 39 of the units will be designated as affordable for low-income households, allowing for a streamlined review process.

6200 Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon

The San Ramon Planning Commission is set to review plans discussing the two-structure residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 6200 Bollinger Canyon Road site in the larger Bishop Ranch campus. The two buildings will be five and seven stories respectively, creating 457 residential units, 69 of which will be affordable. The taller of the two buildings will surround a garage with on-site car and bicycle parking, while the shorter building will create a C-shape around a landscaped courtyard with outdoor dining, seating, and a pool. This project is a part of the CityWalk Masterplan, which hopes to create over 4,500 new residential units, retail space, a hotel, and public landscaping at Bishop Ranch.
