2610 International Boulevard in Oakland

Permits were filed for a six-story affordable complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2610 International Boulevard site in Oakland. The project will create 105 apartments, along with on-site parking for cars and bicycles, 7,700 square feet for childcare facilities, and 3,770 square feet of common space, including outdoor courtyards. Sky bridges will connect the separate blocks of the L-shaped complex.

2200 Bancroft Way in Berkeley

New details were released for a 23-story student housing project at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2200 Bancroft Way in Berkeley. The complex will include up to 1,634 beds, as well as a new two-story dining facility. Moreover, the development will yield amenities such as 19,500 square feet of open space, social lounges, a central courtyard, a fitness center, laundry rooms, and bicycle storage. The project also hopes to achieve LEED Gold certification.

3403 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland

Updated plans were filed for an eight-story residential development at 3403 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. These new plans will see the number of units in the complex increase from 93 to 105, and 29 of those 105 units will be deed-restricted affordable housing.

1401 Folsom Street in San Francisco

Plans have been approved for a nine-story residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1401 Folsom Street in San Francisco. Of the 94 residential units, 10 will be affordable, allowing the developer to utilize the State Density Bonus program. The complex will also include 1,450 square feet of ground-floor retail space and on-site parking for bicycles. Moreover, the building will be near public transit, as it is just two blocks from the Civic Center BART station.

2518 Mission College Boulevard in Santa Clara

The City of Santa Clara and Irvine Company are set to review the Freedom Circle Focus Area plan, the residential redevelopment of a 25-acre park at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2518 Mission College Boulevard site in Santa Clara. The team hopes to construct nearly 1,800 apartments within the Freedom Circle Focus Area across five five-story apartment complexes. Along with the residential component, the full build-out will yield nearly 17,000 square feet of amenities and about 3,500 square feet of retail space. On-site parking will also be included for 2,445 cars.

Phases 1A and 1B of the RESHAP housing plan

Permits were filed to entitle Phases 1A and 1B of the RESHAP affordable housing plan at the former Alameda Naval Air Station in Alameda, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. These new permits covered two four-story residential developments, with Stardust Gardens at 451 Stardust Place in Phase 1A and Harbor Village at 2450 Pan Am Way in Phase 1B. The two complexes will yield a total of 166 apartments, over 1,000 square feet of retail space, and around 7,400 square feet of office space, as well as on-site parking for cars and bicycles. The full RESHAP buildout will create 332 units of affordable housing and resources for families, veterans, survivors of domestic violence, and people who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing homelessness.

78 Johnson Street on San Francisco’s Treasure Island

Star View Court, an affordable housing development located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 78 Johnson Street site on San Francisco’s Treasure Island, has opened its doors to residents. The seven-story complex contains 138 affordable units, including 94 replacement units for families living on Treasure Island, along with parking for 28 cars. Amenities within the development will include a community room, on-site laundry, and access to the nearby 6th Street Park.

240 Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco

The housing lottery has opened for the eight-story Kelsey Civic Center affordable housing complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 240 Van Ness Avenue site in San Francisco. The complex, which contains 112 affordable units and a 1,180-square-foot Disability Cultural Community Center, expects move-ins to begin in early 2025. About one-quarter of the 112 units will be allocated to residents with disabilities.

Mandela Station Parcel T3 in Oakland

The Oakland Planning Commission is set to review plans for the affordable housing component of the West Oakland redevelopment project, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Located at Mandela Station Parcel T3, this component will consist of a six-story complex with 241 affordable units and on-site parking for 50 cars and 158 bicycles. The development will also include over 12,800 square feet of retail space. Overall, the entire Mandela Station project hopes to create about 762 units of housing, 300,000 square feet of office space, 50,000 square feet of retail space, and a public park.

550 East Brokaw Road in San Jose

Plans have been filed for a new tech hub at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 550 East Brokaw Road in San Jose. The hub, which will consist of over 300,000 square feet of office, manufacturing, and warehouse space, will replace the former Fry’s Electronics Store at the site. This project is a downsized version of a massive 2,000,000-square-foot office complex that had previously been proposed at the site.
