2276 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley

Zoning permits were filed for an 18-story, 84-unit development at 2276 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Of the 84 units, nine will be affordable for very low-income households, allowing the complex to increase its density. Moreover, the building will contain about 7,500 square feet of retail space and on-site parking for bicycles.

3705 Haven Avenue in Menlo Park

New renderings were released for the eight-story, 112-unit residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 3705 Haven Avenue in Menlo Park. Of the 112 units, 14 will be affordable, and the complex will include amenities such as on-site parking, a small pool on the third floor, and additional open space on the fifth floor and rooftop. The area surrounding the complex will also be landscaped, and on-site parking will be included in a two-level podium garage.

2115 Kittredge Street in Berkeley

After an attempted appeal was rejected, the Berkeley City Council will allow the 18-story residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2115 Kittredge Street site to move forward. The apartment tower will rise above the California Theatre, which will retain its historic façade and contain a new 325-seat live performance space despite partial demolition. The residential portion of the development will have 211 units, and the complex will contain over 24,000 square feet of retail space and on-site parking for bicycles.

98-100 Castro Street in Old San Leandro, Alameda County

The San Leandro Planning Commission will be reviewing plans for a three-unit affordable housing development at 98-100 Castro Street, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The project will create three detached two-story homes, and each individual house will be capped by rooftop solar panels to help generate renewable energy. The area surrounding the homes will be landscaped, and on-site parking will be included.

2587 Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley

Permits have been filed to construct an eight-story, 52-unit student housing complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2587 Telegraph Avenue site near UC Berkeley. The dorm-style complex would feature a total of 219 beds, and of the 52 units, six will be affordable for very low-income households. The project is currently awaiting final approval after going through the City of Berkeley’s Design Review Commission and Zoning Adjustments Board.

3801 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Oakland

Permits have been issued for a six-story affordable housing development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 3801 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Oakland. This project would create 77 more units near the MacArthur BART station, along with on-site parking for cars and bicycles. The development will also include a landscaped courtyard with a barbeque pit and children’s play area, as well as nearly 2,400 square feet of retail space.

401 Cypress Avenue in South San Francisco

A grand opening ceremony was recently held for the Celeste apartment complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 401 Cypress Avenue in South San Francisco. The eight-story, 195-unit development is located near the city’s Caltrain station, adding to the list of transit-oriented projects constructed in recent years. The complex will also include a courtyard and on-site parking for cars and bicycles.

3100 South Bascom Avenue in San Jose

Developer Affirmed Housing Group celebrated the grand opening of the 79-unit Vitalia affordable housing complex at 3100 South Bascom Avenue in San Jose, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The five-story development will contain 39 units of permanent supportive housing, and residents will have access to amenities such as a ground-level courtyard and rooftop deck. Moreover, the complex will contain on-site parking and 620 square feet of commercial space.

1245 McKay Avenue in Alameda

Permits have been filed for the affordable senior housing center at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1245 McKay Avenue in Alameda. Called the Alameda Wellness Center, the complex will feature 106 affordable units and one market-rate manager’s unit. Residential amenities will include a private courtyard, a ground-floor multi-purpose amenity space adjacent to a landscaped park, and on-site parking for cars and bicycles. Moreover, the Wellness Center will feature a two-story primary care facility that will help the local unhoused community.

The project will also include a courtyard and other landscaped open space.
