1701 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley

New renderings and building permits were revealed for a six-story affordable housing development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1701 San Pablo Avenue site in Berkeley. This development will create 110 residential units, with one market-rate unit for the property manager and 109 units of affordable workforce housing for employees of the Berkeley Unified School District and their families. The complex will include on-site parking for cars and bicycles, along with over 5,800 square feet of amenity space. These amenities will include a fitness center, community room, courtyard, and co-working space. The rooftop of the building will also contain solar panels, increasing the environmental friendliness of the project.

1598 University Avenue in Berkeley

The Berkeley Design Review Committee will be assessing plans for the eight-story, 207-unit residential complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1598 University Avenue. Of the 207 units, 21 will be affordable for very low-income residents, allowing developer NX Ventures to utilize the State Density Bonus. The project will also feature amenities such as on-site parking, over 6,000 square feet of landscaped open space, a community garden, a club room, a fitness center, and lounges and decks.

Updated plans have been released for a potential eight-story, 203-unit residential development at 400 Divisadero Street in San Francisco, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The complex will include over 1,800 square feet of retail space, along with on-site parking for 24 cars and 144 bicycles. 23 of the 203 apartments will be affordable, and residents will have access to amenities such as a fitness center, lounge, and rooftop deck with outdoor dining space and a dog run.

Details were released regarding the seven-story residential complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 3781 El Camino Real site in Palo Alto. Of the project’s 177 units, 36 will be designated as affordable housing, as the builder’s remedy requires 20% of all units be priced below market-rate. The complex will also include a podium deck and rooftop terrace, as well as private open space across various balconies and patios. Other residential amenities include a lounge, clubhouse, and on-site parking for cars and bicycles.

The project will include nearly 1,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space and parking for cars and bicycles. Residents will also have access to nearby Muni buses and light-rail lines, both of which operate within the neighborhood.

Illustrations have been released for the seven-story, 335-unit development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 3606 El Camino Real in Palo Alto. 67 of the 335 units will be designated as affordable, allowing developer Sares Regis to use the builder’s remedy and SB 330 to streamline the approval process. Moreover, the project will include five stories of housing above a two-story parking garage, and the complex will include a backyard, two podium-top courtyards, and a rooftop terrace.

3705 Haven Avenue in Menlo Park

New renderings were released for the eight-story, 112-unit residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 3705 Haven Avenue in Menlo Park. Of the 112 units, 14 will be affordable, and the complex will include amenities such as on-site parking, a small pool on the third floor, and additional open space on the fifth floor and rooftop. The area surrounding the complex will also be landscaped, and on-site parking will be included in a two-level podium garage.

2115 Kittredge Street in Berkeley

After an attempted appeal was rejected, the Berkeley City Council will allow the 18-story residential development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2115 Kittredge Street site to move forward. The apartment tower will rise above the California Theatre, which will retain its historic façade and contain a new 325-seat live performance space despite partial demolition. The residential portion of the development will have 211 units, and the complex will contain over 24,000 square feet of retail space and on-site parking for bicycles.
