We are proud to announce that Rockridge Geotechnical’s Berkeley Way project has won an AIA Housing Award! The 100% affordable development, which is located at 2012 Berkeley Way, contains 142 affordable units of housing and 44 beds in an on-site homeless shelter. The homeless shelter will also provide resources to its residents, such as mental health assistance and job training.

Habitat for Humanity recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Sequoia Grove residential project, which is located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 123 A Street site in Hayward. The development will consist of 10 townhomes and aims to be climate-friendly, boasting features like universal electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The complex will also feature multiple communal spaces, such as an area for barbecues and a community garden. Moreover, the majority of the construction will be completed by Habitat for Humanity volunteers.

$39.1 million in state funding has been awarded for the construction of the El Cerrito Plaza Transit-Oriented Development, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s projects. The project aims to construct 743 apartments across six buildings, and nearly half of these units will be affordable. The development also hopes to create 2,100 square feet of retail space, on-site parking for cars and bicycles, and potentially a 20,00-square-foot public library. Construction will begin with a six-story, 70-unit affordable housing complex.

An application was filed for the Creekside Hotel and Residences at 3400 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The 3400 El Camino Real masterplan calls for the construction of four new buildings and the retention of five-story and two-story buildings currently operated by the Creekside Inn, as well as the retention of a nearby ten-unit apartment building. Overall, this multi-building complex will contain 231 units of housing and 136,000 square feet of space for the hotel, along with parking for 234 cars and 270 bicycles. Note that the preliminary application for this development was assisted by the builder’s remedy.
