Construction has topped out for the three largest buildings in the transit-oriented development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1175 Aster Avenue site in Sunnyvale. The complex will create 741 units of housing adjacent to Caltrain’s Lawrence Station platform, allowing residents to have easy access to San Francisco and San Jose. The complex’s homes will consist of a mix of apartments, condominiums, and townhomes, and amenities in the development include an orchard plaza and playground.

Construction has nearly topped out for the three-building apartment complex at 777 West Middlefield Road in Mountain View, a Rockridge Geotechnical site. All three buildings are five stories, and the development will create a total of 716 units of housing. Two of the buildings will have market-rate units, while the third building will be affordable, with 38 of the 146 affordable units being allocated as housing for teachers. Amenities for residents include on-site parking for cars and bicycles, an outdoor courtyard, and a swimming pool.

A groundbreaking event is being held for the permanent supportive housing complex at 3301 Kerner Boulevard in San Rafael, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The project will create 41 units of housing for individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as formerly unhoused individuals and people suffering from mental illnesses. Other amenities include a courtyard, community room, and storage spaces.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the eight-story, 112-unit affordable housing complex called The Kelsey at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 240 Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco. All homes in the development will be affordable to people making 20-80% of the area median income. Moreover, 25% of the units will be allocated to people with disabilities, and the complex will include an on-site Disability Cultural Community Center. Other amenities include a ground-level garden with an open courtyard, a rooftop deck, and office space for residents.

Updated plans are being reviewed for the three-building residential development at 1532-1556 Mount Diablo Boulevard, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. These plans would create 42 homes and ~23,000 square feet of retail space across the complex, and on-site parking for 145 cars would exist for residents and retail patrons.

New renderings have been released for two possible visions of the Tasman East development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s Tasman Drive site in Santa Clara. The renderings show mid-rise and high-rise complexes on Parcels 4A and 4B, one with 900 residences and the other with 950. The high-rise scheme, which would create 950 units of housing, would consist of two 22-story towers on both parcels, while the 900-unit mid-rise plan would create two 85-foot structures on the parcels.

Construction has topped out for The Residences at Shoreline Gateway, which is located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1001 Shoreline Boulevard site in Mountain View. The three-story development will create 303 apartments across two separate blocks, with a total of 30 apartments being designated as affordable. Almost 5,000 square feet of retail space will exist in The Residences, and the first phase of the complex’s construction also includes the construction of a four-story Google-occupied office building.

New renderings have been released for the 17-story, 227-unit residential tower at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2274 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley. The building will replace the Regal United Artists Theater on the site, but the façade of the theater will remain with the construction of the new structure. Furthermore, 23 of the units in 2274 Shattuck will be affordable, allowing the project to use the State Density Bonus program. On-site parking will exist for residents, and the development will also contain 1,500 square feet of retail space.

Construction has reached the sixth story of the 19-story mixed-use development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1510 Webster Street in Oakland. The building will create 222 new homes, 35 of which will be designated as affordable, along with ~3,000 square feet of retail space and ~9,500 square feet of office space. The development used mass-timber construction, an approach to construction that is more sustainable.

Permits were approved for the eight-story, 83-unit mixed-use development at 2538 Durant Avenue in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Five of the 83 units will be allocated for very low-income residents, and there will be ~1,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Amenities in the complex include bicycle parking, a work lounge, a fitness center, and a courtyard deck.
