525 North Capitol Avenue in San Jose

Construction is underway for The Fielden, a five-story, 160-unit affordable housing complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 525 North Capitol Avenue in San Jose. The development will also designate 25 units for homeless veterans, 15 units for formerly or chronically homeless individuals, and 12 units for individuals or families living with disabilities. Amenities will include an outdoor courtyard, a community kitchen space, and on-site parking for cars and bicycles.

Plans were approved for a five-story affordable housing development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1223 33rd Avenue site in Oakland. The complex will contain 68 units of affordable senior housing, along with 4,800 square feet of common amenity space.

2449 Dwight Way in Berkeley

Plans are set to be reviewed for the reconstruction of a fire-damaged building at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2449 Dwight Way in Berkeley. The redevelopment would double the floor count from four to eight stories while also creating 63 new apartments, 24 of which will be rent-controlled and three of which will be allocated to very low-income households. The complex will also include over 2,600 square feet of retail space.

Permits were filed for a mixed-use development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2200 Fifth Street in Berkeley. The three-story complex will feature eight townhome-style units along with two commercial office units, and these office units will also be zoned for light industrial use. On-site parking will be included for ten cars.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Shirley Chisholm Village, the workforce housing development located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1360 43rd Avenue site in San Francisco. The five-story complex will contain 135 affordable units, along with outdoor courtyards, a fitness room, and a community room. Moreover, Shirley Chisholm Village will provide on-site community services, such as academic-based programs for youth, economic mobility programs, and adult education classes.

Updated plans were filed for a supportive housing project at 1700 Sacramento Street within the North Berkeley BART Station redevelopment, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s projects. The complex will create 85 residential units, along with a 2,400-square-foot private open plaza and on-site parking for bicycles.

R&M Properties is seeking approval to construct a 21-story, 222-unit senior housing development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 910 Marshall Street in Redwood City. The complex would contain 34 assisted-living and memory care units, and it would be located near a Caltrain station and a Kaiser Permanente hospital. The development would be the first senior housing complex built in Redwood City in over a decade.

2128 Oxford Street in Berkeley

Demolition permits were filed for the existing buildings at 2128 Oxford Street in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites, to make way for a 27-story mixed-use apartment complex. The development, called The Hub, would create 456 new residential units geared at UC Berkeley students, over 14,000 square feet of retail space, and on-site parking for cars and bicycles in a garage on the first floor. Of the 456 apartments, 40 would be affordable for extremely low-income and very low-income households.
