Renderings were released for the nine-story residential building at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2222 Carroll Street in Oakland. This 84-unit complex would prioritize energy efficiency, and it could potentially be the first dowel-laminated timber building in California. Of the 84 units, 17 would be affordable, and amenities would include group open space and bicycle parking.

Construction financing has been secured for the six-story residential development at 797 South Almaden Avenue in San Jose, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. Of the complex’s 99 units, 98 will be affordable, and the final unit will be set aside for the property manager. The structure will also include 2,300 square feet of retail space and on-site parking for cars and bicycles.

Plans for an affordable housing complex at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 150-170 Sierra Drive site in Walnut Creek are set to be reviewed by the Walnut Creek Planning Commission. The proposal looks to demolish the existing residential complex at the site to construct a six-story structure with 87 affordable apartments. This new building will also contain over 3,000 square feet of space for on-site services, along with surface parking for 58 cars.

Demolition work has begun on the existing structures at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 1101-1123 Sutter Street site in San Francisco, making way for a future 22-story residential development. This new complex will contain 303 apartments, 102 of which will be affordable, along with 2,800 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a 4,000-square-foot childcare facility. On-site parking will also be included for cars and bicycles.

A six-building, 196-unit complex from The Presidio Trust is being planned at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site once occupied by the Army’s Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco’s Presidio. Each of the new buildings will be two to three stories tall, and they will be the first residential structures constructed within the Presidio in over 20 years. The project will require the demolition of two existing non-historic buildings.
