The three-story, 41-unit Casa Canal residential complex, which is located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 3301 Kerner Boulevard in San Rafael, held its grand opening ceremony last week. The complex is 100% affordable, providing permanent housing for formerly unhoused residents, and it will include on-site resources such as supportive and mental health care for residents.

Plans were filed with an updated design for the residential development at 2200 Calle De Luna in Santa Clara, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. This new iteration proposes the construction of a six-story, 301-unit apartment complex with amenities such as co-working space, a fitness center, terraces, and a rooftop pool. This development is within the Tasman East Specific Plan, a development effort focused on building up to 4,500 units of housing across from Levi’s Stadium.

Two condominium buildings were delivered at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 915 North Point Street and 988 Harrison Street sites in San Francisco. The three-story, 35-unit Norvoir complex, which is located at 915 North Point Street, is a luxury building just one block from the waterfront. Contrarily, the eight-story, 90-unit Renou complex offers units starting at just $399,000, creating a cheap opportunity for residents to own property in San Francisco.

Final approvals were met for the Heritage on the Marina redevelopment at 3400 Laguna Street in San Francisco, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. This project will expand facilities by over 58,000 square feet, creating space for 23 new care suites and new on-site parking spaces.

A 64-unit affordable housing building named Trillium Senior Apartments, which is being constructed at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 675 East Santa Clara Street in San Jose, received a Notice of Exemption that will allow the development to expedite its environmental approvals. Trillium is part of a large-scale project, which will include another senior housing building along with four additional residential buildings. Trillium will consist of three articulated bays connected by multistory walkways, and two landscaped courtyards will sit in between the bays.

Plans for a new two-building development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2942 College Avenue site are set to be reviewed by the City of Berkeley. Each of the buildings will be two stories, with a mixed-use building occupying the street front and a residential building at the rear. The mixed-use building will contain nearly 1,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial food space, and the second floor will contain over 1,800 square feet of residential space; the second building will contain nearly 3,000 square feet of residential space across both floors. In total, six new units will be constructed across the two buildings.

A new two-story mixed-use building is set to be constructed at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 811 Cedar Street in Berkeley. The structure, which will be built after the demolition of the existing single-family home at the site, will contain a mix of office and residential space; the lower story will be used as office space, while the upper story and lofted mezzanine will be residential space.

Construction has started on the six-story Berkeley Unified School District workforce housing development at 1701 San Pablo Avenue, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The complex will contain 110 units, 109 of which will be affordable, along with amenities such as a landscaped central courtyard. On-site parking will be included for 55 cars and 105 bicycles.

The Bay Area Young Survivors (BAYS) Breast Cancer Memorial Garden, which is located at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at the corner of Arguello Boulevard and Conservatory Drive East in Golden Gate Park, recently opened to the public. The circular memorial is surrounded by landscaped greenery, and it contains wooden benches and a plaque dedicated to 110 young people who have died of breast cancer. The goal of the memorial is to act as a “metaphorical hug” for people affected by cancer.
