Building permits were issued for the six-story affordable development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 1470 5^th Street in Oakland. This 240-unit building is the first residential structure to be constructed as part of the larger West Oakland transit-oriented development, which hopes to create 762 residential units, approximately 300,000 square feet of office space, retail space, and a public park. The 1470 5^th Street building will also contain nearly 13,000 square feet of retail space and a 50-car parking garage.
