Zoning permits were filed for a taller iteration of the California Theater Housing tower at 2115 Kittredge Street in Berkeley, one of Rockridge Geotechnical’s sites. The updated permits would see the residential building rise 23 stories as opposed to the 18 stories stated in the application prior to this week’s changes. Moreover, the number of units is expected to decrease from 211 to 148, likely to create larger apartments that appeal to students. The theater will still retain its original façade and will have a new performance space.
