The University of California Board of Regents approved over $7 million in funding for the predevelopment phase of the proposed student housing building at Rockridge Geotechnical’s site at 2200 Bancroft Way in Berkeley. This development aims to create 1,400 new beds for students, with most rooms in the complex being shared by three students. Moreover, this complex is part of UC Berkeley’s long-term strategy to address its student housing shortage, which is one of the worst in the country.
