Permits were cleared for an 18-story mixed-use development at Rockridge Geotechnical’s 2276 Shattuck Avenue site in Berkeley. Nine of the building’s 83 units will be designated as affordable for very low-income households, allowing the development to utilize the State Density Bonus program. The complex will also contain 7,650 square feet of commercial space across two retail spots, and on-site parking will be provided for both the residential and commercial portions of the building. Moreover, the historic façade of the building, which was built in 1906, will be preserved.
